The erasure of Geta's name occurred after his damnatio memoriae by Caracalla in 211 CE.
The "ravine" described in the inscription is probably a reference to the wadi near Jerash (Gatier 1985:311-312). Moralee (2004:43) suggests that the dedicants owned an orchard.
